The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) is set to conduct the 5th round in the series of consultation meetings with mining stakeholders this month.

On October 30, 2018, the DENR and the MGB will convene the representatives of mining companies to come up with effective policy reforms in the industry.

The meeting will be held at the SEDA Vertis North in Quezon City and the agenda will be as follows: fiscal regime for mining industry; Department of Finance (DOF)’s presentation of TRAIN 2 on mining; Congressman Suansing’s version of the fiscal regime bill; DOF’s comments on the bill; and the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP)’s position on the bill.

A short video from the Technical Working Group on new approach on mining will then be presented after the discussions.
