BASCO, BATANES — In a move to strengthen its commitment to a faster, more effective conflict resolution, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted a Capacity Building Training on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for its leadership on April 9 to 11, 2025, at Amboy Hometel, Basco, Batanes.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) participated in the Final Dissemination Workshop of the Linking Disaster Risk Reduction and Land Use Planning (LIRLAP) Project on March 24, 2025, in Manila. The event brought together national government agencies, local government units, civil society organizations, and academic institutions to present the results of efforts to address informal settlements in hazard-prone areas across the Philippines.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and its Lands Geological Survey Division (LGSD) recently held a training on Integrated Laboratory-Approach for Hydrothermal Alteration Mapping from April 7-11, 2025, at the Red Hotel in Quezon City. The event aims to strengthen the participants' knowledge of geological exploration and laboratory techniques relevant to the detailed characterization of mineral deposits.

On February 18, 2025, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) issued Memorandum Order (MO) No. 2025-001, titled “Guidelines for the Integration of Natural Succession Strategies in the Progressive Mine Rehabilitation of Mined-Out Areas and Other Disturbed Areas”, to reinforce the government's commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible mining practices, as mandated under Republic Act (RA) No. 7942, otherwise known as the Philippine Mining Act of 1995, and other relevant Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) policies.

Chemists from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office participated in the 8th National Conference of Chemical Laboratories (NCCL), held on April 3–4, 2025, at the Century Park Hotel in Manila.
