As an affirmation of its full support to the Philippine Red Cross’s (PRC) pursuit to alleviate poverty, uplift human dignity and promote volunteerism, several employees of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) joined the PRC’s Million Volunteer Run 4 (MVR4) at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, Manila (hashtag #REDSetGo) last October 21.

Proceeds of the fun run will be used to fund PRC’s various programs for volunteer services and to improve PRC’s disaster management services by increasing its fleet of ambulances, rescue trucks, firetrucks, water tankers, food trucks, and other emergency response vehicles.

More than 50 PRC Chapters from Northern, Central and Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao have simultaneously participated in the nationwide run.

The MVR4 fun run also completed the PRC’s broad network of one million volunteers.

Registration rates were P500 and P350 for either the 3K or 5K run.  Both included a singlet, a bookmark with red ribbon of remembrance, a runner’s card and a race bib. Additional PRC Bronze Membership Cards were given to the P500 registrants.
