The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) celebrated its 120th founding anniversary on November 29, 2018.
The celebration was held at the MGB Central Office grounds in Quezon City with the theme: “Ensuring Commitment and Sustaining Excellence Amidst Challenged in Mining.”
The day started with a mass followed by the awarding ceremony for loyalty awardees and retired employees.
Afterwards, MGB Assistant Director Danilo U. Uykieng read the anniversary message on behalf of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy A. Cimatu. In his message, he reminded the Bureau to continue to enforce the practice of responsible mining to uplift and reinvent the mining industry.
The event was capped off with parlor games and prizes.
